Our nationally recognized specialists treat a full range of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, helping patients of all ages move, heal, and thrive.Join us and become part of a trusted network committed to excellence in orthopedic care.Primary Functions & Responsibilities:Performs physical examination, compiles medical data and records medical history and implements a treatment plan on new and established patientsOrders appropriate diagnostic studies when indicated Instructs patients and families regarding treatment plan and medicationsConsults with physician when warranted to assess patient condition and treatmentEnsures that medical charts and administrative paperwork is completed in a timely mannerProvides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visitsProvides follow-up care to patients according to practice guidelinesMay perform preoperative assessment of patient and confirms completion of required documentationAssesses patient status for compliance with physical, emotional and social admission requirementsMay or may not perform thorough preoperative work-up for the scheduled proceduresNotifies Medical Director or attending physician if patient does not meet criteria or is not suitable for treatment in the outpatient settingConfirms that medical clearance and all diagnostic tests are performed and documentedSupports the patient and family by explaining the perioperative experience with specific instructions to the patient and family regarding their responsibility in the outpatient processMay or may not coordinate the surgical schedule considering special needs of the patientPerforms within guidelines of specific privileges approved by the governing body and delegated by the Medical DirectorMay confer with the surgeon about the planned anesthetic to be administeredDocuments orders and considerations specified by surgeon and carried out by PhysicianMonitors patients and administers medications according to Facility policyPerforms preoperative activities according to Facility policyProvides support to medical and office staffKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to assess situations, resolve within scope of ability, or escalate as appropriateAbility to respond effectively to emergencies, actual events or drills.Ability to follow instructions with little supervisionAbility to maintain professional demeanor in all aspects of roleMay make hospital rounds for physicians when indicatedAssists in completing paperwork for patients as indicatedTravels between facilities when indicatedStrong customer service skills and excellent communication skillsThis organization participates in e-Verify.
