The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non‑profit faith‑based organization, has a job opening for a Part Time Custodian for the Greenville Corps, located in Greenville, NC.
Job Summary Cleans the Corps building to ensure neatness and cleanliness daily. Assists in monitoring light fixtures, ensuring light bulbs are in working order, and replaces bulbs as needed. Keeps grounds clean and free of trash, using a ride mower, push mower, and edger. Assists in setting up meeting rooms with tables and chairs, and cleans these areas after meetings. Uses appropriate chemicals with care to keep the building and grounds sanitized and well‑kept. Follows instructions, works well with others, and drives The Salvation Army vehicles as needed for food pickup or other errands. Performs other related work as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Perform general maintenance and cleaning activities for buildings and grounds.
Follow instructions and work independently.
Read and communicate in English; bilingual a plus but not necessary.
Education and Experience No formal education or experience required; six (6) months experience performing general housekeeping duties; any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certifications Valid State Driver’s License.
Physical Requirements
Meet attendance requirements.
Exert physical energy required for housekeeping and minor maintenance work.
Perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and climbing.
Lift 35 to 75 pounds.
Work is performed in a normal office environment with some exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or disagreeable sights and odors.
