FULL-TIME FLOATER PRESCHOOL TEACHER II
Preschool Classrooms – Victoria Soto School.

Major Responsibilities
Work with teachers in planning and preparing materials for children's learning activities.
Conduct learning activities with children.
Contribute information that helps teachers in assessing, recording and reporting children's progress and using the results of assessment to plan activities.
Supervise children's activities to assure their safety.
Assist in maintaining a safe, clean and orderly learning environment.
Provide classroom coverage.
Qualifications
Preferred: Minimum a Childhood Development Certificate (CDA) or equivalent (at least 12 college credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education or early childhood special education). Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood plus two years of experience with preschool children is preferred.
Successful teaching experience at the early childhood and/or kindergarten levels.
Familiarity with the Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards.
Other Requirements
Current First Aid, CPR and medication certification or willingness to obtain.
Work is primarily in a classroom environment; preschool classrooms are dynamic with a high level of activity.
Incumbent must be able to lift 40 pounds. Other physical demands as specified in the job description.
Term Program operates on a school-day/school-year schedule – 186 days.
