Front Desk Medical Receptionist Overview Erie Family Health Centers, a nationally recognized top workplace with 13 sites in Chicago and suburbs, is looking for a valuable addition to our Patient Support Services team. The Front Desk Medical Receptionist assists in obtaining, confirming, and updating patient information—including demographics, insurance, assigned physicians, and preferred pharmacy—in the electronic medical records system. As the first in‑person point of contact for our patients, the successful candidate is responsible for conducting themselves in a professional, accommodating, and concerned manner toward patients, visitors, and other staff members at all times.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Registering patients, inputting charges, scheduling and verifying appointments.
Collecting payments at the time of service, applying fee scales appropriately, safeguarding cash, and verifying insurance.
Functioning collaboratively with other Patient Support Services, Front Desk Medical Receptionists, and other clinical services to ensure efficient, friendly, cost‑effective service.
Qualifications Education
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Required Skills and Knowledge
Prior customer service experience required.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are required.
Preferred
Prior physician's office experience is beneficial.
Experience in utilizing a computer and Microsoft Products and electronic medical records system is beneficial.
EPIC experience is a plus.
Bilingual is a plus.
