The City of Huntsville Police Department (HPD) seeks qualified retired APOSTC certified law enforcement officers to fill part-time police officer positions. Applicants must honorably retired, have no pending disciplinary action, and meet all applicable legal criteria.
Position Overview This is law enforcement work in the protection of life and property through investigation, assistance to citizens, arrest and detention, and related activities. Work involves prevention of crime, enforcement of laws and ordinances, investigations, apprehension of criminals, internal investigations, special assignments, security work, and front desk duty.
Qualifications
High school diploma from an accredited school or GED certificate.
Must be an APOSTC certified law enforcement officer who honorably retired in good standing with no pending disciplinary action.
Must meet specific requirements as stipulated by the Alabama Peace Officer Handbook, including training commission and other legal criteria.
Must successfully complete a pre-employment supplemental application.
Must successfully complete a pre-employment polygraph examination.
Valid driver’s license.
