Parts & Service Outside Sales Representative

Overview The Parts & Service Sales Representative (PSSR) is responsible for developing strong, long-term relationships with customers while promoting parts, service, maintenance programs, and value‑added solutions that support equipment uptime and lifecycle performance. This role operates independently within an assigned territory and collaborates closely with Service, Parts, Sales, and Delivery teams to ensure customers receive exceptional support. The PSSR serves as a trusted advisor, helping customers plan maintenance, reduce downtime, and protect their investment.
Responsibilities
Promote and sell parts, service repairs, PM programs, rebuilds, and value‑added maintenance solutions.
Research equipment, parts, and Allied products to meet specialized customer requirements.
Prepare and deliver quotes, proposals, and service recommendations.
Follow up on open quotes and convert opportunities into sales.
Work closely with Service Managers, Parts Managers, and Technicians to coordinate customer needs.
Communicate customer issues, opportunities, and feedback to internal teams to improve service delivery.
Assist with scheduling service work, warranty coordination, and parts availability when required.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers across the assigned territory.
Conduct regular site visits to understand customer needs, equipment usage, and maintenance requirements.
Document all customer interactions, opportunities, and follow‑up actions.
Maintain strong working knowledge of JCB equipment, Allied products, and competitive offerings.
Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding equipment, parts, and service options.
Support Sales staff with equipment demonstrations, walk‑arounds, and Sales agreements when needed.
Required
Experience in heavy equipment, construction, agriculture, or related industries.
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of equipment systems.
Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently, manage a territory, and prioritize tasks.
Proficiency with computers, CRM systems, and basic reporting tools.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Previous experience in parts, service, or field sales roles.
Familiarity with JCB or similar equipment brands.
Experience performing equipment inspections or undercarriage measurements.
Work Environment & Expectations
Regular travel within assigned territory.
Field-based role with frequent customer site visits (construction sites, farms, industrial yards).
Occasional support at the dealership for meetings, training, or customer events.
Must maintain a professional appearance and represent the company with integrity.
Provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
