is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility with 25 inpatient beds located in Paris, IL and multiple outpatient clinic settings. Since 1968 we have served residents of Edgar County through community education, emergency services, and outpatient care.
Job Summary The position is responsible for collecting venous and capillary blood specimens from patients, performing drug screen collection, routine clerical duties, and performing simple waived testing.
Essential Functions
Follow laboratory procedures for obtaining specimens (blood and other body fluids) and swabs for laboratory testing.
Ensure specimen requirements are met at the time of collection and maintain specimen integrity.
Perform waived & Quality Control Testing.
Prepare & process specimens for courier pick up for processing at reference laboratory.
Assist the Medical Technologist, Laboratory Technologists and Pathologist when performing procedures as requested.
Document and order entry into hospital Laboratory Information System (LIS) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Additional Responsibilities This position may at any time obtain specimens from neonates, infants, children, adolescents, and geriatrics. The phlebotomist must have appropriate knowledge and skills to perform laboratory related duties for these populations. May also be assigned to assist in training phlebotomy to healthcare students and performs other related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Phlebotomy skills for a wide range of ages preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Pay & Compensation Pay ranges from $15,000/hour to $20,603/hour (rate of pay is based on applicable years of experience).
Location & Hours Location: 721 E. Court Street, Paris, IL 61944 Hours: 40 hrs per week, days with varying hours most likely 9:30am-6pm
