This position is eligible for
the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP),
a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
Responsibilities
Carry out the strategic and business aspects of the Clinical Nutrition section.
Oversees a complex Clinical Nutrition Section which involves providing administrative and technical supervision of GS12 Dietitians and the oversight of the work of clinical dietitians at the GS-11 level and below.
Ensure evidence-based guidelines are integrated into clinical practice and collaborate closely with the Supervisory Dietitian (Food Operations) to enhance the Veteran's dining experience.
Provides clinical nutrition section specific leadership serving as professional and technical advisor to staff and other health care professionals.
Has oversight over HR staffing, employee relations and labor relations in Clinical Nutrition section.
Exercises a full range of supervisory and personnel management authorities and assumes full responsibility in planning, directing, and assessing work of subordinate staff.
Establishes a training plan for the clinical section that is based on evidence based nutrition.
Develops and leads clinical nutrition operations.
Establishes strategic goals and ensure priorities align with the strategic plan of the NFS department, VISN and programs.
Work Schedule Mon-Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
