Nursing Assistant - 7W Medical PCU - Sharp Memorial Hospital (Day Shift) – Full Time
Hours: 7 AM - 7:30 PM (12‑hour shift, 12/36 schedule)

No $25.000 - $27.640 - $30.490 hourly pay This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with SEIU-UHW. As part of the terms of employment, employees in this role are required to join the union within 31 days of hire and remain a member (e.g. dues paying, fee paying, religious exception contributor) for the duration of the collective bargaining agreement. In alignment with the SEIU CBA, this position will be posted for 7 days internally from 12/17/25 to 12/24/25 and available only to existing members of the ratified SEIU Bargaining Unit with a contract expiration date of 9/30/2027. Collaborates with the interprofessional team in the delivery of quality patient/resident care under the direction of a licensed nurse. Delivers care with consideration to age‑specific needs/care. Contributes to overall unit functions. Please Note:

AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED Preferred Qualifications
H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Other Comparable to certified nursing assistant course. 1 Year recent experience in geriatric setting or recent experience in an acute care hospital. Essential Functions
Admissions, Discharge and Transfer Responsibilities: May be responsible for some or all of the following duties—ensures complete room set up for new admission, meets and greets new patient/resident and family members on admission to unit, orients patient/resident and family to the facility/room, inventories and documents patient’s personal belongings, accounts for patient’s belongings during transfer and discharge, transfers patient to activities, therapies and other departments timely and safely, enters orders related to equipment/supplies/dietary needs, disposes patient from IDX within expected timeframe, removes all equipment and supplies upon discharge, ensures room set‑up for next admission. Patient Care Activities: Completes and signs appropriate documents accurately and timely; provides patient care within scope of responsibilities; documents daily care of patient per unit standards; follows telemetry process and collaborates with central telemetry for initiation/discontinuation; identifies and communicates new residency/patient care issues/concerns; takes rapid action in life‑threatening situations and immediately notifies the licensed nurse; communicates requests outside scope of practice to appropriate personnel; communicates plans for transfer or discharge; reports incomplete work requiring follow‑up to licensed nurse. Safety: Complies with universal precautions and hospital infection control policies; uses proper body mechanics and support equipment; identifies and communicates patients at risk; complies with restraint and item safety policies; reports personal injury and hazards promptly. Time Management: Prioritizes workload according to patient needs and staffing patterns; validates understanding of new patient needs; communicates with staff to develop plan; asks for assistance; reports to license nurse or supervisor when unable to meet demands; seeks feedback for efficiency. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge of basic patient/resident care skills. Effective interpersonal skills; ability to perform all baseline resident/patient care skills under guidance of licensed Nurse.
