Interventional Radiology Technologist – Part Time, Days DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan

is one of the nation’s largest hospitals specializing in rehabilitation medicine and research. RIM focuses on spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, amputee, orthopedics, and catastrophic injury care, and operates 31 outpatient sites throughout southeast Michigan.

Schedule is weekdays only with no holiday or weekend responsibilities.

Up to $7,500 Sign‑on Bonus, based on relevant experience

Summary Description Under general supervision and following established policies and procedures, the technologist performs diagnostic interventional exams, verifies patient identity, reviews medical records, obtains and updates medical history, explains procedures, sets up equipment, acquires images, reviews images, documents exceptions, communicates data to the radiologist, responds to medical emergencies, provides post‑care instructions, participates in process improvement activities, educates residents and new employees, and may perform duties of a Radiologic Technologist as required. The technologist must be available for call/standby as needed.

Qualifications

Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology (RT), Vascular‑Interventional Radiography (VI), or Cardiovascular‑Interventional (CV).

Required to have or successfully complete American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support – Healthcare Provider (BLS) training by end of orientation period.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire for employees in an adult setting or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 1 year for employees in a cardiology setting.

One or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiology.

Skills Required

Analytical and clinical skills to determine the most appropriate method of imaging based on patient ability and limitations.

Interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with and instruct patients under physical or emotional stress, and to collaborate with diverse hospital personnel.

Technical knowledge to operate specialized equipment and computers.

Ability to work productively in a complex environment, handling multiple priorities.

Knowledge of American College of Radiology accreditation requirements.

Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.

Manual dexterity and visual acuity for operating all types of x‑ray equipment and supplies.
