The Athletic Trainer at Beloit College works as part of a team of athletic trainers and a sports medicine team physician to provide healthcare services to athletic teams. Performs assessment of injury or condition and takes appropriate follow up steps to ensure safe and proper care Prescribes routine, preventive and corrective exercises to strengthen muscles, increase balance and improve flexibility Provides practice, game/event coverage for assigned area Responds to medical emergencies and provides assessment, stabilization and first aid Makes recommendations for athletic participation and return to sport guidelines Completes accurate documentation of assessment and referrals Refers athletes to physician for continued care per protocol Performs manual techniques and utilizes taping and bracing to relieve symptoms and improve function Collaborates with sports medicine providers, physicians and other allied health professionals May work in a clinic setting with physician or under the direction of a physical therapist Education & Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of Athletic Training Certification / Licensure
Licensed as an athletic trainer in WI, IL or both if required CPR/BLS required within 30 days of hire BOC certification Maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested Have/maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth’s HR‑01‑Fleet Safety policy Additional Requirements
Passing the Driver’s License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring) Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Must be able to follow written/oral instructions. Work Environment
