What You’ll Do As an Orthopedic Technician, you’ll play a key role in patient care by applying casts and splints, dispensing and instructing on durable medical equipment (DME), and supporting physicians with orthopedic procedures. You’ll also maintain inventory, manage administrative tasks, and help ensure the clinic runs smoothly.

Essential Functions

Apply and adjust fiberglass casts, splints, and orthopedic traction equipment per physician orders.

Educate patients on proper care of casts, splints, and DME items.

Maintain knowledge of clinic DME products and indications for use.

Keep accurate logs and spreadsheets as required by the department.

Place supply orders according to calculated par levels and clinic needs.

Collaborate with the Authorization Team to determine patient financial responsibility and communicate with patients.

Organize and stock received inventory efficiently.

Monitor inventory levels daily to ensure clinic readiness.

Report new usage trends to the Practice Manager.

Assist in other areas of the clinic as needed.

What We’re Looking For

Education: High school diploma/GED required; completion of Sports Medicine, Orthopedic Technician, or Medical Assistant program preferred.

Experience: Minimum one year of relevant experience in a medical facility preferred.

Skills & Abilities: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to educate patients effectively, and proficiency in inventory management.

Professionalism: Ability to collaborate with clinic staff, communicate clearly with patients, and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
