Manufacturing Machine Operator, Processing (2nd Shift) - Sturgis, MI Plant
Abbott invites you to apply for the Manufacturing Machine Operator, Processing (2nd Shift) role at our Sturgis, MI plant. This entry‑level position is part of the Abbott Nutrition division and involves the manufacturing of liquid adult, pediatric, and medical nutritional products, including handling raw ingredients, operating processing equipment, performing cleaning tasks, and documenting manufacturing steps.
Key responsibilities:
Manufacture and process liquid nutritional products while following FDA, OSHA, and Abbott policies.
Operate scales, portable pumps, container rinsers, homogenizers, dry blending equipment, and other processing tools.
Perform hand cleaning, clean‑in‑place (CIP), heat treatment, and cleaning‑out‑of‑place (COP) procedures.
Maintain computer‑controlled systems and document all manufacturing steps and process parameters.
Receive and unload bulk raw ingredients and CIP chemicals, and stage materials using a powdered industrial forklift.
Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and collaborate with leadership to resolve issues.
Required qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to continuously lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
Preferred qualifications:
At least 6 months of food manufacturing experience.
Mechanical aptitude, solid problem‑solving skills, and high attention to detail.
The base pay for this position is $19.05 – $38.15 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
