RN – Overnight Nurse (OVN)
at San Marcos Treatment Center
Position available for experienced Registered Nurses to work overnight shifts (10 PM – 6 AM) with an adolescent population in a 212‑bed, seclusion‑free psychiatric residential treatment facility in Central Texas.
Responsibilities
Perform physical assessments of patients and develop individualized treatment plans.
Administer medications as prescribed and maintain complete documentation.
Provide health‑care education to patients and families.
Serve as shift supervisor for Mental Health Techs and LVN staff, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.
Offer direct patient care and manage children, adolescents, and young adults as directed by the physician and treatment team.
Provide safety, supervision, and crisis management for patient populations.
Assist in managing a therapeutic milieu.

Qualifications Education:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. One year psychiatric/neuropsychiatric experience with adolescents and/or young adults in a long‑term hospital or residential setting preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Current Texas professional nurse license and current driver’s license.
Skills:
Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information; effective organization; competence in patient care services; mental ability to understand and perform essential functions; ability to initiate and implement all phases of the nursing process; basic supervisory skills.
