Position Summary Responsible for assisting in nursing assessment, supporting coordination of medical and psychiatric care, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Provide medical treatment as defined in our incidental medical services related to clients’ substance use disorders.

Generate a detox and/or medical treatment plan in the client’s chart and communicate with the provider for review and signature.

Ensure clear, accurate, and timely documentation of significant medical events.

Ensure timely documentation required by regulatory standards.

Ensure CARF and industry standards are met by the nursing department.

Provide communication with PA and/or MD with relevant information to streamline the intake process.

Communicate effectively with all treatment team members to ensure the client receives holistic care within the treatment plan.

Provide medication‑assisted treatment education, induction, and monitoring as prescribed by PA/MD.

Ensure timeliness and accuracy of pharmacy deliveries and orders, and communicate with pharmacy and treatment teams.

Maintain good customer service with clients and employees.

Facilitate patient lectures on health‑related topics.

Work with outside referral resources to ensure clients’ medical needs are addressed while in treatment.

Provide referrals to clients prior to discharge for ongoing medical care.

Participate in performance improvement activities.

Other duties as assigned.

Abilities

Ability to provide medical treatment as defined in incidental medical services related to clients’ substance use disorders.

Ability to generate a detox and/or medical treatment plan in the client’s chart and communicate with the provider for review and signature.

Ability to ensure clear, accurate, and timely documentation of significant medical events as required by regulatory standards.

Ability to work with electronic health records and associated technology to ensure timely and accurate documentation.

Ability to ensure CARF and industry standards are met by the nursing department.

Ability to provide effective communication with PA and/or MD to streamline the intake process and ensure holistic care.

Ability to provide medication‑assisted treatment education, induction, and monitoring as prescribed by PA/MD.

Ability to maintain good customer service with clients and employees, including facilitating patient lectures on health‑related topics.

Ability to work with outside referral resources to address clients’ medical needs and provide referrals for ongoing care prior to discharge.

Ability to handle multiple priorities with a sense of urgency, meeting deadlines established by supervisors.

Qualifications

Education/Certification Level:

Required:

Licensed Vocational Nursing from an accredited vocational school, college, or medical program

High School Diploma or GED

Valid driver's license

CPR and First Aid Certification

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

Bilingual (Spanish proficiency)

Experience:

Preferred: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field

Physical Demands:

Physical: Primary functions require physical ability and mobility to stand or sit for prolonged periods, ascend/descend stairs, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach overhead or below shoulder, twist; lift, carry, balance, push, and/or pull light to moderate weight (up to 50 lb); manual dexterity for repetitive keyboarding and reaching to operate computer equipment.

Vision: Close, distant, and peripheral vision with depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Verbal: Capable of expressing or exchanging ideas verbally to convey information and instructions accurately.

Hearing: Normal hearing with or without correction.

Environment: Client contact, frequent interruptions, possible exposure to fumes, chemicals, bodily fluids, odors, dust, heat, and cleaning products occasionally.
