Senior Pharmacy Technician – Providence St Vincent Medical Center, Portland, OR

Description:
The Acute Care Pharmacy Tech III performs duties relating to the filling and dispensing of unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to nursing units and other ancillary departments. Responsibilities include filling/distributing oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders, and maintaining the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS). Candidate must possess advanced knowledge and skills in two or more specialty areas in pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities:
Fill and dispense unit dose and stock medications promptly and accurately.
Triage patient medication orders.
Maintain automated dispensing system (ADS) integrity.
Apply advanced pharmacy skills across multiple specialty areas.
Required Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED.
Oregon Certified Pharmacy Technician license upon hire (or Oregon Pharmacy Technician License).
Minimum of 2 years experience in an integrated health system and PTCB certification, or 3 years in hospital pharmacy if not PTCB certified.
Previous experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR).
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program.
Advanced PTCB certificate (e.g., Compounded Sterile Products, Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician, Medication History, Controlled Substances).
Specialty certification applicable by role and state (e.g., ACPE approved sterile compounding).
