Key Responsibilities
Provide timely and effective responses to medical emergencies, including performing CPR until relieved.
Administer medications and accurately document in the Medication Administration Record (MAR).
Conduct patient assessments, perform histories and physicals, and refer to appropriate healthcare providers as needed.
Assist Physicians during patient examinations and implement treatment orders.
Educate patients and correctional staff on healthcare practices and safety protocols.
Collect specimens and samples as directed by Physician orders.
Maintain compliance with infection control practices, including Universal Precautions, and adhere to safety and security regulations for controlled medications, keys, and sharps.
Perform venipuncture and IV therapy.
Actively participate in disaster drills and follow all established security and safety protocols.
Complete additional duties as assigned by management.
Key Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Current state license as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Active CPR certification required.
Knowledgeable about state laws and regulations governing nursing practice.
Completion of clinical competencies (initial and annual) as per role requirements.
