Base pay range $16.00/hr - $18.00/hr

Responsibilities

Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Register sales on assigned cash register and provide courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.

Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in pharmacy practice, including using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.

Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services; resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.

Model and share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive experience and Walgreens service traits.

Provide customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service; recommend items for sale to customers and recommend trade‑up/companion items.

Register customer purchases on assigned cash register, collect cash and distribute change as requested; process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, exchanges as needed. Take customer to OTC aisle when possible to assist in locating products.

Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, take inventory, and maintain records. Check in and price merchandise as required or as directed by store manager.

Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager/Staff Pharmacist/Store Manager including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicine, checking possible interactions; assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow.

Report prescription errors immediately to pharmacist on duty; adhere to company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program. Review and comply with Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.

Strictly adhere to Walgreen Co. policy on Good Faith Dispensing during applicable dispensing activities.

Handle telephone calls that do not require personal pharmacist attention, including those to physicians.

Process (correct and resubmit) manual claims for third‑party prescription services promptly; perform other clerical duties as assigned.

Assist Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities such as ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals; file claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors or damaged goods involving Rx drugs.

Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (alcoholic beverages, tobacco).

Construct and maintain displays including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise; complete resets and revisions as directed.

Assist with separation of food items and product placement as per policies; use first‑in, first‑out and restock procedures.

Have working knowledge of store systems and equipment.

Provide customer service in photo area, including digital passport photo, poster print, etc., and suggestive sell of promotional photo products.

Assume web pick‑up responsibilities: monitor orders in Picture Care Plus, pick items, deliver orders to customers as they arrive at store.

Assist with exterior and interior maintenance, ensuring clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance.

Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.

Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Training & Personal Development

Earn and maintain PTCB certification through designated training program and/or state‑required certification/registration.

Attend training and complete PPLs requested by manager or assigned by corporate; acquire continuing education credits; maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy.

Basic Qualifications

Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).

Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.

Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.

Prefer strong math skills for accurate prescription filling.

Prefer good computer skills.

Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.

Prefer PTCB certification.
