Job Summary Under moderate supervision, the EMT I is responsible for 24‑hour medical monitoring and supervision of study participants, timely completion of deliverables to meet the needs of the study sponsor, principal investigator, and department administration, and direct supervision of Patient Care Technicians on the inpatient unit.
Compensation $20–24 / h. depending on education, experience, and skillset.
Schedule As needed Friday nights and weekends.
Essential Responsibilities And Duties
Provides supervision of assigned staff to ensure patient safety.
Ensures all team duties have been completed to company and sponsor/protocol‑specific guidelines, including chart documentation, meal compliance, shift report completion, etc.
Coordinates patient care in compliance with protocol requirements.
Ensures all patient rooms are checked daily for cleanliness and safety.
Administers medication per protocol and medical standards.
Provides general nursing care to study participants as necessary; including monitoring of vitals, blood sugar, etc.
Performs EEG tests according to protocol and medical requirements and collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnostic evaluations.
Observes and monitors the physical and mental status of study participants throughout shift.
Assures proper documentation is in each study participant’s record.
Responsible for accurate and timely data collection, documentation, entry, and reporting.
Ensures all delegated responsibilities are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Identifies potential crisis situations; intervenes in a calm, professional manner.
Completes all required forms for admissions and discharges.
Maintains confidentiality for study participants at all times.
Maintains current knowledge to assure a safe working environment and demonstrates practical application of all policies and procedures relative to safety and infection control.
Utilizes universal precautions in any potential contact with study participant body fluids or used participant supplies that may be contaminated with participant body fluids.
Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skills
Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
High school graduate or equivalent.
Successful completion of a state‑approved Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) course that meets or exceeds the National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards.
Experience performing EEG tests.
Ability to maintain study participant confidentiality.
Ability to work as a team member.
Ability to maintain quality control standards.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Attention to detail.
Working Conditions
Indoor, clinic environment.
Essential physical requirements include sitting, typing, standing, walking.
Lightly active position, occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
May be required to lift and transfer patients.
Reporting to work, as scheduled, is essential.
On‑site work arrangement.
Hourly Rate $22.79, depending on your education, experience and skills.
