We are a busy Pediatric Ophthalmology practice seeking a highly motivated and dependable Ophthalmic Technician who is willing to work in a fast‑paced environment. We are currently staffed with one full‑time pediatric ophthalmologist and one full‑time optometrist. We serve patients age 21 and younger for comprehensive care, and adult strabismus patients of any age.
Located in the historic Riverside neighborhood of Jacksonville, FL, Pediatric Eye Consultants of North Florida is a recognized leader in the continuous improvement of ophthalmic health care. Job Title Ophthalmic Technician – Pediatrics
Base Pay Range $18.00/hr – $20.00/hr
Education and Certification
High School Diploma or GED
Ophthalmic Technician Certification
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Scribe Duties
Enter the patient room with the ophthalmologist during the patient visit to capture and transcribe the medical record documentation utilizing electronic medical record applications.
Enter data into electronic health records software via iPad (EMA) and practice management system (Centricity/Phreesia).
Edit and send referral faxes and office notes as generated in EMA.
Assist in patient reminder calls, record releases, and obtaining outside medical records as needed.
Input patient prescriptions into electronic medical record / e‑scription service.
Support front desk when necessary (answering phones, scheduling, verifying insurances, obtaining referrals and prior authorizations, recalls, surgical paperwork).
Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and attention to detail.

Preferred Experience Previous pediatric ophthalmology experience is not required but will be given preference.
