States Analytics Lead

role at Democratic National Committee.

The Democratic National Committee’s Tech Team is seeking a

States Analytics Lead

to support our mission of empowering Democrats to win more elections through effective, data-driven campaigns.

Who We Are We are a fully remote, distributed team living in 19 states, valuing clarity over complexity, curiosity over ego, and sustainability over burnout. We believe good ideas can come from anywhere, accountability and empathy can coexist, and work should feel meaningful without consuming your whole life. We are committed to building technology infrastructure that supports campaigns from cycle to cycle and improves with every iteration.

Who You Are We’re looking for a strategic, analytics-minded leader who will shape how the DNC Data Team supports campaigns across the ballot. You will lead a team that turns data into insights that inform decision‑making and build systems to help Democrats leverage data at scale to win in 2026 and beyond.

In this Position You Will…

Lead a team of analysts supporting coordinated campaigns, DNC national organizing efforts, and voter registration programs.

Develop a reporting roadmap for the DNC’s states and voter registration programs and oversee its implementation.

Communicate national expectations on voter contact universes and hold state data teams accountable, creating scalable systems and documentation for evaluation.

Lead communication of regular updates from the states analytics team during cross‑departmental DNC meetings and with sister committees, coordinated campaigns, and other stakeholders.

Collaborate with other leaders across the DNC Data & Tech Teams to build sustainable infrastructure and address shared challenges.

About You We don’t need candidates to check every box on this list. Think of these qualifications as a guide rather than a strict set of requirements. If you’re excited about the role and feel you can thrive on our team, we want you to apply!

At least two cycles of experience working on a large‑scale statewide coordinated campaign or similar, and at least one cycle as a Coordinated Data Director.

Managed analytics teams, including technical mentorship, professional coaching, and culture building; bonus points for managing a distributed team.

Experience working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, balancing competing priorities, and building consensus.

Impact‑oriented, understanding the role of data in strategic program planning, and asking the right questions before diving into analysis.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, and experience explaining technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Familiar with political data such as state voter files, election results, or voter contact data, and comfortable helping leaders leverage this data. Experience with DNC tools (Votebuilder, Phoenix, Mobilize, Scale to Win) is a bonus.

Expert SQL user; experienced with data analysis, visualization, and telling stories with tools like Google Data Studio, Tableau, Periscope, or Looker.

Experience with voter outreach or community organizing, either professionally or as a volunteer. Bonus for hands‑on outreach activities.

Worked in modern cloud data environments (GCP, BigQuery, Airflow, dbt, etc.).

You May Also…

Strong understanding of ETL pipelines and data transformation tools like dbt.

Comfortable coding in Python, R, or another language, or willing to learn new tools quickly.

Experience working with vendors, including relationship management, technical validation, and budgetary oversight.

Salary & Work Hours The salary for the States Analytics Lead is $114,000 on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a full‑time exempt position that may require weekend work and is not eligible for overtime wages.

Eligibility Due to federal campaign finance rules, only U.S. citizens or U.S. green card holders are eligible for this role. See 52 U.S.C. 30121; 11 C.F.R. 110.20(i).
