Position Overview We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Lead to oversee a team of Project Engineers and manage project engineering activities. This role provides technical support for capital projects and ensures work aligns with safety, reliability, and regulatory standards. The position requires balancing immediate needs with long‑term priorities and fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This is a safety‑sensitive position.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the Project Engineering group, providing guidance and technical expertise.
Manage engineering and construction contractors to ensure projects are completed according to design specifications and code requirements.
Develop engineers' skills through individual development plans aligned with organizational goals.
Lead multidisciplinary project teams in designing, scheduling, and implementing project plans.
Develop project scopes, schedules, and resource plans to ensure successful completion of goals.
Manage capital budgets and forecasts, including monthly cash flow tracking.
Oversee the Management of Change (MOC) process for major projects.
Provide technical evaluations for projects in a chemical or fertilizer manufacturing context.
Support engineering requests, turnaround planning, and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred.
10+ years of engineering experience, with 5+ years in project execution in chemical, fertilizer, or refinery settings preferred.
Prior experience supervising engineers or technical teams.
Strong project management skills, including experience with capital projects over $5M.
Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
