Location: Gulfport, MS

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: Based on Experience and Knowledge

Reports To: Production Manager/General Manager

Job Summary Design Precast and Pipe is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Scheduler and Coordinator to manage the scheduling and coordination of pipe and precast concrete projects. In this fast-paced role, you will serve as the central hub between the sales team, production department, and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless project flow while juggling up to 40+ active projects. The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, processes information quickly, and excels at prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines, optimize production capacity, and deliver exceptional client service in the construction materials industry.

Key Responsibilities

Project Scheduling and Planning : Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using tools like Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar software. Incorporate sales team requests, production timelines, and resource availability to create realistic timelines for pipe and precast installations, deliveries, and completions.

Coordination and Communication : Act as the primary liaison between sales, production, and field teams. Quickly process incoming requests from sales (e.g., client bids, changes, or urgent orders) and align them with production capacity constraints, ensuring no bottlenecks in manufacturing or delivery.

Multi-Project Management : Oversee up to 100 concurrent projects, monitoring progress, identifying risks (e.g., delays due to material shortages or capacity overloads), and implementing adjustments to keep everything on track. Use data analytics to forecast potential issues and propose solutions.

Resource Allocation : Evaluate production team capacity, allocate resources efficiently, and coordinate with suppliers for pipe and precast materials to avoid overruns or idle time.

Reporting and Analysis : Generate regular reports on project status, timelines, and performance metrics. Analyze data to identify trends, such as recurring delays, and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency.

Change Management : Handle project changes swiftly, such as scope adjustments or client revisions, while minimizing impact on overall schedules and costs.

Compliance and Documentation : Ensure all projects adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies. Maintain accurate records of schedules, communications, and project milestones.

Stakeholder Support : Respond promptly to internal queries (e.g., from sales on project feasibility) and external ones (e.g., client updates), fostering strong relationships to support repeat business.

Qualifications and Skills

Education : Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., PMI Scheduling Professional - PMI-SP) are a plus.

Experience : 3-5 years in project scheduling or coordination, ideally in the construction, precast concrete, or pipe manufacturing industries. Experience managing high-volume projects (50+ simultaneously) is essential.

Technical Skills : Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Oracle Primavera), Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for data analysis), and ERP systems. Familiarity with precast/pipe-specific tools (e.g., inventory management software) is advantageous.

Soft Skills : Exceptional organizational abilities with the capacity to process and prioritize information rapidly in a dynamic environment. Strong communication skills for collaborating with sales and production teams. Ability to multitask under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

Other Requirements : Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to adapt to shifting priorities and occasional travel to production sites or client meetings.
