Job Summary The
Procurement Specialist
supports the Supply Chain organization by managing sourcing, supplier coordination, purchasing activities, and procurement documentation within an aerospace-focused environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, supplier interaction, and the ability to manage procurement activities while ensuring compliance, cost efficiency, and data accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Perform
source selection , create
RFQs/RFPs
...
Create and manage
purchase orders
within assigned authorization limits
Request and validate
supplier certifications and documentation
Track
supplier acknowledgements, delivery status, and past-due purchase orders
Maintain accurate records in
SAP , including notes and status updates
Assist senior buyers with
9-tab folder creation and documentation
Troubleshoot
supplier invoice issues
to support timely payment resolution
Monitor and evaluate
supplier performance and pricing trends
Participate in
supplier visits
and assist with program review agendas
Compile and analyze data to support
price objectives and sourcing decisions
Maintain the highest standards of
ethics, confidentiality, and compliance
Support additional
projects and initiatives
as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong understanding of
procurement and sourcing principles
Experience supporting
government, industrial, or aerospace procurement environments
Ability to manage
multiple priorities
and meet deadlines
Strong
analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent
written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with
Microsoft Office applications , including presenting financial data
Ability to interface effectively with
suppliers and internal stakeholders
Willingness to work
weekends, alternate shifts, and overtime
as required
Ability to maintain
confidential and proprietary information
Education & Experience (One of the Following Required)
Bachelor’s Degree
with 0 years of directly related experience
Associate Degree
with
4+ years
of directly related experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
with
8+ years
of directly related experience
Experience must be in government, industrial, or aerospace purchasing or subcontracting.
Additional Requirements
Some
travel required
Ability to pass a
background investigation
(if required)
Ability to obtain and maintain a
DoD security clearance
(if required)
Must adhere to
company policies, procedures, and management instructions
