The Vocational Habilitation Specialist (VHS) serves as a role model, creating and sustaining positive relationships with staff and the people that we support. The VHS trains and supervises staff to ensure the delivery of high‑quality services. The VHS will facilitate a process of continuous improvement related to the agency's strategic plan. The VHS will communicate in a manner that energizes the workforce, promotes retention, encourages team excellence and reinforces positive partnerships throughout the organization and in the community.
Core Responsibilities
Model, promote and support the organizational performance values as a member of the leadership team. Implement a continuous improvement process that enhances the quality of support provided for individuals and families. Ensure opportunities and full participation of individuals or teams in staff development activities. Maintain a work environment conducive to performance excellence aimed at promoting valued relationships and meaningful lives. Maintain positive relationships with people we support, their families, community organizations, regulatory representatives and referral sources. Supervise daily program operations including budget monitoring, scheduling and coverage, orientation, training, staff meetings and discipline. Implement and ensure compliance with the policies, procedures and regulations of the agency and external regulatory bodies. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree One year experience working with persons with developmental disabilities Valid NYS Driver’s License required. Benefits
