Position Summary Roeslein Energy Division is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our team in energy, mining, industrial power markets, and Integrated bio‑energy solutions—with a focus on the Houston Oil and Gas market. The individual must be self‑motivated, disciplined, and persistent in identifying new contacts and generating new leads. The individual can expect to communicate with contacts at both corporate and field supervisor, management, and director levels. The individual should be comfortable in both corporate and field meeting environments. The individual must have an interest in understanding technical subjects—such that he/she can talk through high‑level project applications and operations to 1) externally build rapport with contacts and 2) internally communicate potential fab/service opportunities. The individual should be knowledgeable, professional, and approachable—seeking to provide exceptional customer engagement and service through every interaction. To generate and secure business, the individual must have a strong sense of initiative and ownership—as well as a team mentality. More time is expected to be externally focused—however internal efforts are necessary as well.

Externally The BD Manager should connect with project owners, project owner consultants/3rd parties, and suppliers through in‑person meetings, virtual correspondence (phone, email, Teams, etc), and industry events. These conversations should generate opportunities and provide industry insights that help inform how to better secure business and plan for trends/evolutions in the industry.

Internally The BD Manager is expected to work across internal company locations and teams to leverage existing achievements, knowledge, and resources. Internal efforts should be viewed as supporting external relationships and opportunities. Internal teamwork and coordination are essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Pursue project opportunities throughout global market sectors, oil and gas, and renewable natural gas.

Coordinate efforts with Roeslein management in developing proposals and securing contracts for business efforts.

Assist management in understanding customer expectations, achieving gross profit targets, meeting project schedules, and ensuring that Roeslein Energy Division quality standards are achieved.

Maintain and support existing customer relationships by regularly assessing customer satisfaction with our project performance, securing new business, developing new customers, and participating in other marketing activities.

Work closely with the Roeslein Energy Division Management Group to turn the sales opportunities developed by this individual into project opportunities, and will assist, prepare, and coordinate the efforts for the proposal in terms of scope, schedule, pricing, and terms.

Work jointly with the Roeslein Energy Division Management Group to turn opportunities into contracts. Once a proposal develops into a project for Roeslein, most of the efforts will be managed by the Roeslein Energy Division Management Group and the Roeslein Energy Division‑assigned project manager. This will allow the Business Development Manager to focus on future sales leads and other opportunities. The Business Development Manager will still maintain a role with the customer on the project; however, the assigned project manager will manage project/technical issues.

Interface with domestic customers in meetings, presentations, and negotiations.

Provide recommendations directly impacting Roeslein’s performance in securing and executing projects and business.

Obtain support from co‑workers who will provide expertise in project management, process engineering, and construction in various industries.

Travel domestically ranges from 30‑45% annually.

Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.

You must follow training and company procedures.

Must be a leader who represents the organization and can communicate with our customers, adhere to company standards, and resolve issues with urgency and professionalism.

Must comply with Roeslein Energy Division core values for the safe and efficient operation of the business and the commitment to maintain respectful relationships with all employees.

Performs all work in compliance with company standards, does not deviate from policies and procedures, and adheres to regulatory requirements.

Safety is essential to the Roeslein Energy Division, and all safety training classes must be completed with a 100% pass rate.

Requires practical time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.

Ability to effectively interact with co‑workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Skill / Knowledge / Ability / Education / Experience

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related field is preferred.

Oil and gas industry supplier business development experience is required. Upstream/ midstream project business development experience required. Additionally, technical knowledge/experience preferred.

General marketing, resource management, and managerial/financial Business Development skills are required.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, are required.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills are required.

Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills are required.

Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Computer skills and in‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows‑based programs are required.

Ability to work flexible hours with some weekend and holiday work required.

Work Environment Work is performed in an office, and the atmosphere is uncontrolled. Short‑term exposure to harsh conditions—such as dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures—is possible. All employees must follow safety standards and wear personal protective equipment in designated areas.

Physical Demands The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, use hands, and/or feel; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear. Sitting 80%; standing/walking 20%. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and 40 pounds rarely. The ability to travel by car or plane and overnight stays will occur occasionally.
