We are seeking a

Research & Technology Protection (RTP) and Risk-Based Review Specialist

to support

Army Futures Command (AFC) DOIS

in Austin, Texas. This role provides RTP and risk-based security review services that support the creation, maintenance, and security/intelligence functions of

Science & Technology Protection Plans (S&TPPs)

in accordance with DoD, Army, and AFC policies, applicable guidance, and contract deliverables (including

CDRL B002 ).

Key Responsibilities

Support development and sustainment of

S&TPPs , including identifying and documenting:

Threats, vulnerabilities, and essential technology elements

Inputs from functional and technical decompositions

Synchronize organizational SMEs to ensure expert input is incorporated into S&TPPs.

Recommend

threat mitigation strategies

to senior leaders and stakeholders.

Coordinate with higher headquarters and external partners to ensure protection support.

Assist the organization in assessing S&T efforts to determine whether they qualify as

fundamental research .

Document and submit

intelligence requirements

related to organizational technologies; prioritize requests based on S&T criticality and coordinate through AFC processes to build a body of finished intelligence products for senior leader awareness.

Monitor S&T efforts transitioning to

Programs of Record

and support protection activities required for transition, including:

Program Protection Plan (PPP) support

Critical Program Information (CPI) assessments

Stakeholder coordination with PEOs and supporting organizations

Conduct

security-based risk reviews

and support upfront risk assessments of AFC S&T efforts in accordance with applicable DoD, Army, and AFC policy.

Request information from external security and intelligence partners via AFC-established processes and conduct research using both unclassified and classified tools.

Review performer-provided documentation for accuracy, completeness, and quality assurance (e.g.,

SF 424 family of forms , Common Disclosure Forms, Consent/Privacy Act Forms).

Document and maintain best practices in support of RTP goals and report to local and higher headquarters personnel.

Track and monitor the status of proposals submitted for security-based risk reviews; coordinate expert participation in

Risk Mitigation Boards

or related events; inform decision-makers and technical experts of threats from malign foreign actors within performing organizations.

Produce

documents, briefs, assessments, executive summaries (EXSUMs) , and other products supporting the risk-based security review process.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree

in Engineering, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Security Studies, or a related field

Substitution: An additional

five (5) years

of job-related experience may be substituted for the education requirement.

Minimum

six (6) years

of relevant professional experience supporting security, intelligence, program protection, acquisition intelligence, RTP, S&T protection, risk review, or related mission areas.

Desired Skills

Experience supporting S&TPP development, PPP/CPI assessments, and risk review boards

Familiarity with DoD/Army acquisition, S&T program environments, and security/intelligence coordination processes

Strong written communication skills producing briefs, assessments, and executive summaries for senior leaders

Ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate across technical and security stakeholders
