We are looking for a full‑time Residential Supervisor who is at least 21 years of age and has a high school diploma or equivalent with at least two years of experience in a Residential Program. Attendance and successful completion of Safe Crisis Management training is required, and completion of Residential Child and Youth Care Professional Certification Training is also required; employees must complete the online certification process to become Nationally Certified within the first year of employment. A valid driver’s license and compliance with agency underwriting standards are required for agency vehicle use.
A Day in The Life as a Residential Supervisor As a Residential Supervisor, you will assist with meeting our mission of strengthening families by supporting youth with challenging behaviors in a therapeutic environment. Through your day‑to‑day interactions, you will promote health, safety, and well‑being of individuals served, as well as the organization by leading therapeutic groups, teaching daily routines, and promoting positive and proactive behavior management strategies. You will be an advocate for the youth as they communicate their wants, needs, and goals as they work to achieve their highest quality of life.
Additional Tasks Include
Provide direct supervision of direct service program staff assigned to the facility and administrative expertise as required. Promote Trauma‑Informed Care treatment modalities within the program, supervisory, and management activities.
Oversee and supervise a team of staff members working with children in a residential setting.
Provide guidance, support, and leadership to staff to ensure the safety and well‑being of the children under their care.
Develop and implement staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and supervision at all times.
Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, address concerns, and provide training opportunities.
Monitor staff performance and provide regular feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations.
Collaborate with other departments such as case management, therapy, and education to ensure comprehensive care for the children served.
Enforce and ensure adherence to all agency policies and procedures by staff members.
Serve as a point of contact for staff members regarding any concerns or emergencies that may arise during shifts.
Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and training of new staff members. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date documentation of staff interactions, incidents, and progress reports.
Participate in on‑call rotation for after‑hours emergencies and support.
Collaborate with the residential director and other supervisors to address any systemic issues and improve the overall functioning of the residential program.
Develop and implement procedures and controls to promote accurate and timely information flow.
Refrain from assuming any duty that is unrelated to or interferes with the responsibilities of the position.
Advocate, promote, and practice cultural sensitivity and responsiveness in all day‑to‑day interactions.
Develop, promote, and practice teamwork in all activities.
Follow all accreditation standards as well as state standards of oversight for the PRTF.
