Job Summary The Security K9 Manager will lead the Disneyland Resort Canine (K9) program, providing specialized and expert knowledge, and training and leading the hourly Cast Members assigned as Canine Handlers, trainers, and Working Leads.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of a Senior Manager, manage all administrative and operational functions of the K9 program.
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and certifications associated with detection, including yearly certification through the North American Police Working Dog Association (NAPWDA) standards or equivalent.
Support and advocate for the strategies, objectives and mission of Disneyland Resort and Security & Emergency Services.
Basic Qualifications
Demonstrated partnering, coaching and mentoring skills.
Strong written and communication skills across all levels of an organization.
Ability to manage the health and care of multiple working dogs in a licensed commercial kennel, including documentation and record maintenance.
Possess or be capable of obtaining certification as a trainer for Detection Dog Handling.
Obtain a California State BSIS Proprietary Private Security Office License.
Valid California Driver License with no moving violations in the past 12 months.
Ability to meet the physical demands and environmental/working conditions of the position.
Preferred Qualifications
Current certification as a Detection Dog Handler through NAPWDA or similar professional association.
3+ years of demonstrated leadership experience or equivalent.
Experience with law enforcement, government agencies, and military organizations.
Ability to build relationships within the working dog industry.
Capable of designing, implementing and sustaining a comprehensive training plan for new and current Handlers.
Strong interpersonal skills and proactive work in a segment environment of diverse stakeholders.
Flexible with work schedule, including shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Demonstrated fiscal budget, scheduling and project management skills.
Required Education Preferred: Associate's degree or equivalent.

Hiring Range:
Anaheim – $72,000 to $96,500 per year. Base pay may vary based on internal equity and candidate qualifications. Bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided along with full medical, financial, and other benefits.
