$55,000 - $65,000 (Open to higher for an exceptional candidate)
Position Summary The Purchasing & Pricing Associate is a critical operational support role responsible for managing purchasing activities for packaged animal feed ingredient products while providing administrative and analytical support for pricing functions.

The Associate will coordinate supplier communication, inventory planning, and purchase execution while maintaining pricing files and assisting with pricing updates.

Key Responsibilities Purchasing & Supply Chain Management
Support purchasing for packaged animal feed ingredient products, ensuring timely procurement and proper inventory levels
Prepare and process purchase orders, track shipments, and coordinate delivery schedules
Update demand forecasting and inventory planning daily to minimize shortages or excess inventory
Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier, and inventory data in ERP systems
Communicate with vendors to confirm pricing, availability, lead times, and resolve discrepancies or service issues
Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and industry standards
Pricing Administration & Support
Maintain and update customer pricing files, formulas, and cost structures within pricing systems and Excel
Support pricing updates, extensions, and adjustments to ensure accuracy and consistency
Assist in preparing and maintaining pricing models using advanced Excel functions
Data Analysis & Reporting
Develop and maintain Excel‑based tools, reports, and dashboards for purchasing and pricing analysis
Analyze purchasing performance, supplier costs, and market trends to provide actionable insights
Identify data inconsistencies and drive continuous improvement in reporting accuracy
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Serve as a key liaison between purchasing, sales, operations, customer service, and finance
Support production planning and scheduling by ensuring product availability aligns with demand
Communicate supply risks, pricing changes, and operational challenges in a timely manner
Leadership & Professional Expectations
Exhibit strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
Maintain a high level of professionalism and accountability
Take ownership of responsibilities and demonstrate initiative

Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Agriculture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, pricing, or merchandising preferred
Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or related industries preferred; experience in animal feed, nutrition, or agriculture a plus
Knowledge of freight logistics and supplier management practices
Technical & Professional Skills
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, macros, data modeling, complex formulas)
Experience with ERP systems and pricing tools
Strong numerical and analytical abilities with attention to detail
Ability to manage large datasets with precision in cost and pricing information
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
