Baylor Scott & White Health
Role Overview
We are seeking a Digital Operations Manager to support delivery across our product and engineering organization. This role will initially focus on owning one or two defined cross‑functional initiatives, ensuring strong execution, visibility, and alignment across teams. Over time, the role will evolve to support one or more squads more holistically, partnering closely with Product and Engineering leads on delivery, planning, and operations.
Reporting to the Director of Digital Operations, this role blends project management, delivery support, and foundational product operations. This role is intended for an experienced individual contributor who brings strong fundamentals and is ready to expand their scope and influence over time. It is ideal for someone who brings structure without rigidity, helps teams stay aligned, and operates effectively in a complex digital environment.
This is a hands‑on role with clear mentorship, progression, and increasing ownership over time.
Key Responsibilities Project Ownership & Delivery Support (Primary — Early Phase)
Serve as an embedded operational partner on 1–2 initiatives, actively supporting delivery by driving process, coordination, status tracking, communication, and risk management throughout execution
Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, Research, Analytics, and other key teams to track scope, milestones, risks, and dependencies
Maintain project plans, timelines, and delivery artifacts in tools such as Azure DevOps and Monday.com
Surface blockers early and support teams in resolving them
Provide regular status updates and clear visibility to stakeholders and leadership
Agile & Squad Support (Expanding Over Time)
Support Agile ceremonies (planning, standups, retrospectives, refinement) as needed for assigned projects or squads
Help ensure backlog readiness (clear requirements, acceptance criteria, dependencies identified)
Track delivery progress and health using dashboards and agreed‑upon metrics
Support squads in applying our Agile and operational model consistently and effectively
Product & Delivery Operations
Partner with Product Managers to support roadmap execution and quarterly planning
Help maintain alignment between initiatives, roadmaps, and OKRs
Support documentation and reporting that improves transparency and shared understanding
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying gaps, friction points, or opportunities to simplify how teams work
Cross‑Functional Coordination
Act as a reliable point of coordination across teams involved in shared initiatives
Help manage dependencies across squads and surface timing or sequencing risks
Prepare materials for leadership readouts, reviews, and planning sessions
Operational Foundations & Growth
Learn and apply standard tools, templates, and practices used across Digital Operations
Contribute to maintaining shared documentation, templates, and best practices
Support onboarding of new team members or squads into established operational ways of working
Take on broader responsibility and ownership as scope and influence expand
What Success Looks Like
Assigned projects are well‑organized, visible, and progressing as expected
Risks and dependencies are surfaced early, not discovered late
Stakeholders have clarity on status, timelines, and next steps
Teams feel supported — not burdened — by operational structure
The role grows from project execution into broader squad support over time
What Poor Outcomes Look Like
This role is perceived as adding process without value
Project status is unclear or outdated
Dependencies or risks surface too late
Teams feel micromanaged rather than enabled
The role stays reactive instead of growing into proactive ownership
Bottom Line This is not a process‑enforcer role. This is an experienced individual contributor role that starts with defined initiative ownership and grows into trusted partnership with squads. The right candidate removes friction, creates clarity, and helps teams do their best work.
Preferred Qualifications
10 years of experience in project management, delivery coordination, or product / engineering operations
Familiarity with Agile practices and software delivery environments
Experience using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Monday.com, or similar
Strong organizational and follow‑through skills
Clear, thoughtful communication — written and verbal
Comfort working across disciplines and asking good questions
Desire to take on broader ownership and influence over time
Experience in healthcare, technology, or regulated environments
Exposure to roadmap planning or OKRs
Interest in operations, delivery, and team effectiveness
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
Experience: 5 Years of Experience
