The Purchasing Associate is responsible for the procurement of all products within his/her assigned region while maximizing relationships with vendors and minimizing inventory spend. Supervisory Responsibilities
None Essential Job Functions
Form and maintain strong vendor relations. Identify new suppliers and assist negotiating supply agreements and contracts as needed, including discount structures, volume rebates, shipping, etc. Identify opportunities for cost management/value addition. Forecast procurement needs and reorder points. Ensure supplier compliance with all company regulations and requirements, including documentation. Handle purchasing issues. Be responsible for resource and supply availability and timing. Perform cost analysis on items, quantities and holding costs. Increase ROI thru maintaining quality vendor relationships. Performs other duties as assigned. Experience & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Previous purchasing or logistics experience, preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Great written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills. Proficient in all Microsoft applications with the ability to quickly learn new inventory/purchasing systems. Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and talking on the phone, attending virtual online meetings, and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Seniority Level
