Position Summary The Project Manager is responsible for assigned project work and all activities associated with the project(s), including coordination of work schedules, staffing, contractors, timeline, materials, procurement, and project budgets from quoting through onsite management to final closeout. The Project Manager may serve as the point of contact to the customer.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

Review plans and technical documents, answer questions regarding scope and timing, and monitor costs and project progress.

Conduct Pre‑Hand‑Off and Post‑Hand‑Off Meetings with the salesperson and operations team to clarify scope and expectations and establish lessons learned.

Understand contract language and execute projects within contract scope.

Plan, administer, and complete assigned projects, which may cross several functional areas (facilities, operations, administration).

Manage assignments of varying length, complexity, and multi‑phased structure.

Supervise staff, provide work direction, and verify and approve payroll.

Communicate directly with client, contractors, designers, and subcontractors using RFI/Q/P processes concerning cost, scope, staffing, scheduling, and change orders.

Collaborate with various teams to execute the project management plan and revise and document plans via a structured change order process.

Prepare project status reports and ensure plans adhere to contract specifications.

Manage all job site activities of crews and subcontractors.

Work closely with the sales team in all phases of the project and with the safety professional to coordinate safety training, accident investigations, and incident investigations.

Work onsite and travel to client’s job site while directing all activities on the project.

Develop a detailed project schedule with milestones, deliverables, and dependencies based on business objectives, budget, scope, timeline, and risks.

Facilitate weekly meetings to update on progress and resolve issues while communicating with team members, stakeholders, and executives.

Maintain project files in SharePoint to ensure continuity and historic documentation.

Consistently demonstrate professional conduct as a representative of MEI and adhere to the corporate mission, vision, and values.

Perform all other duties as necessary and directed.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Skills, And Education)

High school degree or GED equivalent; bachelor’s degree in a related field highly preferred.

Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.

Five (5) plus years of proven machinery moving, construction, project management, or construction safety experience preferred.

Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, procedures, and risks.

Relies on extensive experience/judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Excellent interpersonal, supervisory, and project management skills.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Highly self‑directed and motivated and works effectively on a team or independently.

Must be able to work alongside field technician in assembly and erecting of machine tools.

Demonstrated problem‑solving and time‑management skills.

Demonstrated ability to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines.

Ability to negotiate effectively with peers around priority and design.

Ability to effectively recognize and resolve conflict in early stages.

Ability to regularly participate and contribute to department and team meetings.

Ability to read and interpret sets of data and plans including schematics, technical manuals, or blueprints.

Proficient skills with the MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Demonstrated knowledge of SharePoint.

Valid driver’s license and clean background.

Ability to travel.

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions This is very physical, hands‑on work. A Project Manager must be able to perform general physical activities—climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work off the ground at varying heights and not be affected by moving machinery or parts. Willing and able to work in a non‑temperature‑controlled environment and/or outdoors in all types of weather, and over uneven ground or terrain.
