Investment Analyst – Job Description
Overview
The Investment Analyst supports investment decision‑making by conducting financial analysis, market research, and valuation modeling. This role evaluates potential investments, monitors portfolio performance, and provides insights to senior investment professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze financial statements, cash flows, and key performance metrics
Build and maintain financial models (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions)
Conduct market, industry, and company‑specific research
Evaluate potential investment opportunities and risks
Prepare investment memos, presentations, and reports for internal stakeholders
Monitor existing investments and track performance against expectations
Assist with due diligence processes
Stay informed on market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
Strong financial modeling and valuation skills
Proficiency in Excel; experience with PowerPoint and financial databases is a plus
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in investment analysis, banking, consulting, or asset management
Progress toward or completion of CFA designation
Experience with equity research, private equity, or portfolio management
