Customer Service Specialist Position at Johnson County Community College – part‑time, non‑exempt, 25 hours per week. Pay $15.95–$20.31.

Position Summary Aid and support all aspects of Bookstore operations. Maintain positive customer service to Bookstore staff, college faculty and staff members, students, and local patrons. Provide general Bookstore information and sales support, maintain the sales floor, handle customer inquiries and complaints, and operate a cash register.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with purchases and perform cashiering duties.

Stock shelves and create barcodes/shelf tags for merchandise.

Answer general customer questions and de‑escalate and resolve any complaints.

Assist other Bookstore departments with special projects related to ordering, price checks, and inventory.

Onboard and train new Bookstore clerks on Bookstore procedures.

Process returns, exchanges, inner‑account transfers, and technology purchase transactions.

Qualifications

High School Diploma and at least 1 year of related experience.

Completes routine tasks under moderate supervision.
