Position Overview The Assistant Field Manager supports the Field Manager in managing labor and material on contract maintenance and snow removal projects. The role focuses on team development, budget adherence, quality oversight, and customer communication.
Responsibilities
Develop a clear understanding of the company’s philosophies, branch goals, and financial position.
Get to know crew members to help them grow within the company.
Actively participate in training by attending or conducting certification sessions regularly.
Plan, schedule, and supervise daily production activities on assigned contracts.
Understand hourly and cost budgets; monitor job hours and costs; communicate budget hours to crew.
Monitor work quality and proactively bring issues to the customer’s attention by inspecting the job at end of each day.
Maintain assigned vehicle and equipment in good working order.
Qualifications
Demonstrated skill and ability to manage others at various levels.
Customer service experience.
Minimum one year of commercial contract maintenance experience.
Horticultural or related 2‑year degree and two years industry experience, or equivalent certifications or substitutions.
Ability to identify and diagnose insect and disease problems and schedule appropriate treatment.
Working knowledge of vehicles and equipment used in contract maintenance and snow removal.
Valid driver’s license with a clean record for the last three years.
