Base pay range $65,000.00/yr - $75,000.00/yr

The Bilingual Quality Assurance Specialist ensures the highest standards of product quality and food safety are supported. This role involves monitoring adherence to QA procedures, keeping and organizing detailed records and conducting various inspections and tests. The specialist checks micro results, oversees the release of finished products and ensures compliance to GMP and HACCP standards. Coordinates lab sampling, performs pre-operational and operational inspections and aids in training of employees. Works closely with plant operations to improve product quality and efficiency while minimizing waste.
Responsibilities
Ensure daily adherence to FSQ procedures.
Maintain HACCP, GMP and all FSQ records, documents and forms.
Collect and submit all micro samples to external lab for testing according to protocol.
Monitor finished product micro results and report non-conformities to the FSQ Manager.
Coordinate and schedule outside lab pick-ups for samples.
Conduct and collect environmental swabbing and water/air tests.
Perform daily pre-operational plant inspections and authorize the start of processing operations.
Monitor employees for compliance with GMPs. Communicate observations to FSQ Mgr./operational supervisors.
Ensure all raw materials, packaging materials, WIP and finished products are compliant to specifications.
Perform daily sensory evaluations with the facility sensory team.
Monitor conditions for finished product handling, shipping, and storage.
Work with operations personnel to improve efficiencies and product quality while minimizing COPQ.
Investigate food safety and quality consumer/customer claims.
Qualifications / Minimum Requirements
Science related degree preferred.
5-7 years of experience in a food safety and quality related job.
Punctuality and reliability in work attendance.
Bilingual ability (English/Spanish) is preferred with the ability to read and write in English. Good math skills.
A clear understanding of GMPs, HACCP, and sanitation standards.
