The Opportunity We’re seeking a

Workforce Inclusion Program Manager

to launch and grow new initiatives that advance equity in the construction trades, particularly for women, non-binary individuals, and BIPOC workers. This is not an inherited program—you will be building and leading efforts from the ground up, beginning with a brand-new mentorship program.

Key Responsibilities

Recruit 20+ mentors from union locals and contractors, prioritizing those with lived experience as women or BIPOC tradespeople.

Deliver stipend mentor training in trauma-informed care, conflict resolution, and leadership (with LAUL leadership’s guidance).

Pair mentors with mentees during pre-apprenticeship and early apprenticeship stages.

Schedule quarterly cohort meetings, provide case management, and track participant progress.

Build and sustain partnerships with unions, contractors, and workforce stakeholders.

Collaborate with Cal-OSHA, the Labor Commissioner’s Office, and others to integrate worker protections into program design.

Track outcomes (retention, completion, apprenticeship placements) and prepare reports for funders and stakeholders.

Qualifications Required

Bachelor’s degree in workforce development, education, public policy, social sciences, or equivalent combination of education/experience.

5+ years’ experience in workforce development, apprenticeship coordination, or program management.

Demonstrated ability to build new programs from inception (not just manage existing ones).

Strong facilitation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in historically male-dominated industries.

Benefits

Salary Range: $70,000 – $80,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

Comprehensive package including health, dental, vision, retirement, and paid time off
