Inventory Specialist – Walgreens
Base pay: $18.00/hr – $21.00/hr
Responsibilities
Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices and SOPs for the entire store, including front end and pharmacy.
Support pharmacy inventory management activities: receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns.
Champion On‑Shelf Availability and validate planogram accuracy.
Review and coordinate reports and system applications affecting front end and pharmacy on‑hand balances and pricing.
Execute and maintain front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques, file claims for warehouse and vendor overages, shortages, order errors or damaged goods including prescription drugs.
Open and close the store, handle cash, cashier responsibilities, and ensure floor and stock room ready for business day.
Engage customers, greet, offer assistance, resolve issues, and model customer service best practices.
Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes, scan deliveries, verify postings, complete On‑Shelf Availability end‑to‑end process, pricing activities, support front end and pharmacy ordering, maintain inventory counts, and ensure compliance with state/local laws.
Qualifications
Six months internal Walgreens experience or one year external retail experience.
Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
“Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months (internal candidates only).
Attention to detail, multitask, manage execution.
Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
Preferred: Prior shift lead, pharmacy technician, customer service associate, or previous Walgreens experience.
