Job Summary In addition to the responsibilities listed above, this position is responsible for providing consultation and education related to clinical quality and patient safety, accreditation, regulatory and licensing, risk management, and infection prevention and control; evaluating, designing, developing, and implementing evidence-based guidelines and programs; collecting, analyzing, reporting, and presenting clinical data; facilitating education on compliance methods; monitoring and developing mitigation plans; supporting the medical center’s survey readiness program; and serving as a liaison with government agencies and regulatory bodies.

Essential Responsibilities

Promotes learning in others by communicating information and providing advice to drive projects forward, builds relationships with cross‑functional stakeholders, listens, responds, seeks feedback, and provides actionable feedback, including upward feedback to leadership and mentorship of junior team members, practices self‑leadership, and models team collaboration.

Conducts or oversees business‑specific projects applying deep expertise, promotes adherence to procedures, partners internally and externally for effective business decisions, determines processes, solves complex problems, escalates high‑priority issues, monitors progress, develops work plans, coordinates resources, recognizes improvement opportunities, and influences completion of tasks by others.

Develops and implements data collection and analyses to support quality improvement efforts: conducts advanced statistical analysis, investigates opportunities to improve reporting, presents quality improvement metrics, and serves as a technical expert interpreting trends and advising on results.

Supports in‑depth and advanced quality improvement and risk‑management efforts: researches corrective action plans, ensures compliance with regulations, conducts root‑cause analyses, failure‑mode analyses, and proactively escalates high‑risk issues.

Investigates opportunities to develop new performance metrics and improves existing ones, consulting with stakeholders to ensure practical, multidisciplinary‑standard‑approved metrics and integrating them into workflows.

Facilitates development of quality improvement initiatives: leverages technology, methods, and tools, monitors data‑driven improvement principles, and synthesizes key information to create realistic plans.

Serves as subject‑matter expert for quality improvement processes and regulations, provides independent consultation, serves as a technical advisor on committees, fosters collaborations, develops educational programs, and anticipates issues with stakeholders.

Develops stakeholder development and quality performance review processes, identifies performance areas, presents reports, and develops curricula for training and education.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum three (3) years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.

Minimum two (2) years of experience with databases and spreadsheets or continuous quality improvement (CQI) tools.

Minimum four (4) years of experience in a clinical setting, health care administration, or a directly related field.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or related field AND minimum six (6) years of experience in quality, performance improvement, or a directly related field OR minimum nine (9) years of experience in quality, performance improvement, or a directly related field.

Registered Nurse License (California).

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or related field.

Health care clinical license from the practicing/applicable state (RN, RPh, PT, OT, ST, SW).
