Flooring Estimator (Tampa)
Advanced Systems, Inc. of Suncoast (ASI) is a premier, full-service flooring vendor serving residential, multi-family, and commercial construction throughout the greater Tampa Bay and Sarasota/Bradenton areas since 1990.
We are looking to fill the position of
Estimator.
The Estimator will be responsible for bidding projects, job costing, material procurement, problem solving, project management, accounting, and customer management. If you are detail oriented and enjoy solving puzzles, we have a great opportunity for you.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Properly utilize software programs and digital blueprints (such as Measure Square) to generate/calculate wall and floor take-offs for Tile, Carpet, Wood, Vinyl, etc.
Generate cost estimates for residential/commercial builders and home buyers.
Identify potential installation problems based on plans, products or requested designs.
Develop, lead, and execute purchasing and vendor strategies.
Interact with all levels of internal and external customers in a professional and supportive manner.
Obtain and review all plans, specifications, and samples to perform and process takeoffs/bids on new projects.
Prepare Bid Packages.
Procurement of materials for jobs by various suppliers.
Research new products and processes from a cost and value basis.
Perform job costing and cost analysis.
Maintain standard and custom feature lists for all communities.
Prepare and maintain direct budget estimates for standard and custom features for all plans and communities.
Resolve specification, selection and plan conflicts with customers.
Assist accounting department in researching and resolving budget and payment issues.
Update and maintain existing contracts as required.
Maintain a positive and professional relationship with all potential and existing customers.
Assist in the validation of material takeoffs.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or minimum 4 years’ experience in flooring or construction.
Proficient with Microsoft Platform (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
Familiarity with square foot and square yard dimensions.
Knowledge of geometry/math.
Data entry experience.
Experience reading construction blueprints.
Budget management experience.
Bidding and plan take-off experience.
General knowledge of residential and commercial construction.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Cooperative attitude.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of all flooring aspects (tile, carpet, wood, etc.).
Microsoft Access.
Measure Square or similar experience.
Order processing experience.
Spanish fluency.
Experience with estimating software.
Position Details Job Type: Full‑time Hours: 7:30 – 4:30 Monday–Friday Work Location: Tampa Compensation: Negotiable based on experience
