Materials Testing Laboratory Technician / Rancho Main

Job Summary: The Laboratory Technician will have strong initiative and be able to perform routine complex procedures to provide quality control and assurance in the lab. They will perform testing procedures in the laboratory for verification of compliance to plans and specifications. Duties will include but are not limited to, performing laboratory tests on soils, concrete, asphalt in compliance with various test methods, logging and reporting findings, maintaining documentation of data, and providing laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration when needed. The Laboratory Technician will communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, and others as applicable regarding the project requirements and test results. Our office in Rancho Cucamonga, CA has an immediate opening for a Laboratory Technician. Duties: Perform Laboratory tests on soils, concrete, construction materials, and asphalt to conform with Caltrans, ASTM, AASHTO test methods, and State procedures. Effectively communicate test results to office and field personnel as well as client contacts. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Provide detailed reports and data from test results. Ensure all samples are accurately logged. Provide laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration. Document and implement test process. Sample inventory management. Documentation and data maintenance. Pick up soil and concrete samples from various project sites. Education/Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment. Excellent organizational skills. Valid California driver's license. Certifications/Licenses: High school diploma or equivalent. The following certifications are highly desirable, although it is not required to have all those listed: ACI Strength Testing Technician (or Caltrans equivalent).
