Warehouse Manager Overnight – Job Description

PITCO Foods is a large independent foodservice distributor in Northern California, based in San Joa CA, with distribution centers in Brisbane, Oakland, and Sacramento.

The role oversees the order selection, merge, and distribution processes of dry product and temperature‑sensitive goods and is responsible for planning routes, analyzing budgets, and processing shipments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and managing the order selection, merge and load processes through optimized routing.
  • Directing, optimizing and coordinating full order cycles.
  • Recruiting, training and retaining overnight staff.
  • Planning and regulating labor cost including overtime.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve workflows, boost productivity, and eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Hiring, training, and supervising employees; setting performance expectations and providing feedback.
  • Overseeing operational budgets, controlling costs, and allocating resources effectively.
  • Ensuring products and services meet quality standards and that the company complies with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Managing inventory, procurement, and supply‑chain operations to ensure a smooth flow of goods.
  • Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing data to make informed decisions, and reporting on operational performance.
  • Collaborating with finance, marketing, and HR to streamline processes and achieve company‑wide objectives.
  • Identifying operational challenges and implementing effective solutions to keep the business running smoothly.

Requirements

  • 5 years of proven working experience as a Manager.
  • Record of successful distribution and logistics management.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong analytical and data analysis abilities.
  • Proficiency with relevant software and technology.
  • Ability to manage budgets and financial planning.
  • Knowledge of supply‑chain management and industry best practices.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and work under pressure.
  • Proficient in standard logistics software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
  • BS in Business Management, Logistics or Supply Chain.
