Phlebotomist II Float – Mountain View, CA

This float position requires a state phlebotomy license (Quest does not accept NHA licenses in CA, WA, or NV). The shift is Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a rotation every third Saturday from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Pay range: $26.35 - $30.66 per hour. Salary offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, and certifications. Successful candidates may be eligible for an annual performance bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Cover assigned territories within patient service centers, doctor’s offices, or as business needs dictate.
  • Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for lab testing.
  • Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
  • Enter billing information and collect payment when required.
  • Coach, mentor, instruct, and act as a resource advisor for new employees; serve as the point of contact on site and provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor.
  • Travel to additional doctor’s office or patient service center sites when needed.

Qualifications

Required Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
  • Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Minimum two years in a patient service center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
