Job Summary
The Patient Services Representative (PSR) / Phlebotomist serves as the front-line representative for patients seeking routine testing or insights into life-defining health decisions. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring a safe, accurate, and professional patient experience while maintaining strict confidentiality standards.
Essential Job Duties
Perform venipuncture and specimen collection following established procedures.
Prepare, process, and accurately label specimens for laboratory testing.
Explain procedures clearly and establish patient trust and confidence.
Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials/signature post-venipuncture to confirm correct labeling.
Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection as required.
Maintain accurate records and required documentation.
Work independently under the guidance of an area supervisor to complete daily activities on time.
Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
Promote a positive organizational image to patients, clients, and the public.
Required Qualifications
2–3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
Demonstrated ability to deliver error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric populations.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
Ability to make sound decisions using established procedures and judgment.
Scheduling & Availability Requirements
Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as required.
Must be available to work all scheduled shifts, arrive on time, and remain for the full shift.
Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination.
Time Zone: All shifts, all days of the week.
Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Transportation & Travel Requirements
Reliable personal transportation required (public transportation, Uber, or rideshare not considered reliable).
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required if applicable.
Must be able to cover multiple Patient Service Center and in-office locations with minimal notice.
Additional Requirements & Preferences
Epic experience preferred.
Site may require additional credentialing.
Must comply with all company policies, including dress code, health & safety, and Everyday Excellence guiding principles.
