Manual Test Engineer
Leidos invites applications for a Manual Test Engineer in the National Security Sector's (NSS) Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA). The role supports fast‑paced, mission‑critical software development in Annapolis Junction.

The Manual Test Engineer will design, execute, and document system‑level test procedures, evaluate changes to software applications, and verify defect corrective actions during development, testing, and operational use.
Job Description
You will join the existing Manual Test team, collaborate with teams that automate regression tests and maintain the testing framework, and apply basic system‑administration skills while working with physical equipment in a test lab.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform system and integration testing of components, modules, and end‑to‑end evaluations.
Develop and execute test procedures, test data, and acceptance criteria.
Document test results, provide test reports, and support software configuration management.
Review test plans, develop test methodologies, and conduct subsystem and software module testing.
Collaborate with Software Development, System Engineering, Integration, Deployment, and Sustainment groups.
Offer system testing expertise for test procedure documentation.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering Management, or related field and at least 8 years relevant experience (degree can be substituted with additional experience).
Experience testing through a full system development life cycle, including test plans, cases, and processes.
Involved in formal test events such as Acceptance Tests and User Acceptance Tests.
Collaborated with developers to create formal test procedures.
Worked with physical equipment in a test lab environment.
Collected, analyzed, and presented test results verbally and in writing.
Utilized elevated privileges for manual test procedures.
Documented test results for corrective actions, reporting, and audits.
Tested systems based on existing system and functional specifications.
Participated in an agile team environment.
Strong communication skills with management and technical personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and Test Driven Development (TDD).
Familiarity with automated test tools.
Programming and scripting experience (Java, shell, Python, etc.).
SAFe® Agilist or DevOps certification.
Pay Range
$104,650.00 – $189,175.00 (general guideline)
