We are looking for a Sr. Manager, Hardware & Firmware Development to drive innovation across our global product portfolio by leading electrical architecture strategy and technical execution. The candidate will oversee the hardware and firmware engineering team, establish development frameworks, and partner cross‑functionally to ensure above‑standard New Product Development (NPD) outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities
Define and implement electrical architecture strategy to support current and future product roadmaps while meeting performance, safety, reliability, and cost goals.
Translate strategic business objectives into actionable engineering plans, aligning team execution with organizational goals.
Provide technical leadership for the electrical engineering discipline, overseeing technical reviews, design optimization, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with global safety standards and regulatory requirements (UL, CE, FCC, etc.).
Establish and maintain design standards, best practices, and development processes.
Integrate a firmware development process within the existing NPD framework, including QA procedures and firmware release schedules.
Partner with Product Management to capture Voice of Customer insights and translate them into engineering requirements.
Collaborate with Engineering and Supply Chain to develop and implement value‑engineering strategies that reduce product cost without compromising quality and performance.
Work closely with mechanical engineering teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to ensure seamless integration of electrical and mechanical systems.
Drive component standardization and platform strategies with Supply Chain to leverage volume purchasing and reduce inventory complexity.
Partner with Quality to drive root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for field issues and design concerns.
Lead and mentor a team of electrical hardware and firmware engineers in design, prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and firmware development.
Manage team capacity, resource allocation, and project prioritization across multiple concurrent development workstreams.
The Ideal Candidate Will Also Possess

10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically in hardware and/or firmware development.
3+ years of leadership or management experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Proficiency with MS Office.
Deep expertise in electrical system design, PCB design, power electronics, control systems, and embedded systems.
Strong knowledge of electrical hardware and firmware development practices and tools.
Experience with testing and validation equipment and methodologies.
Proven track record of successfully managing engineering teams and delivering complex products to market.
Experience with products requiring regulatory compliance (UL, CE, FCC, etc.).
Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience with version control, documentation tools, and project management software.
Strategic thinking and creative problem‑solving skills that translate business objectives into technical roadmaps.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, communication, leadership, and relationship‑building abilities.
Demonstrated innovation, adaptability, flexibility, process improvement, attention to detail, initiative, and business acumen.
Physical Demands
Ability to sit up to 8 hours per day, with walking and standing frequently.
Visual acuity to perform tasks such as data preparation, computer use, reading documents, and email correspondence.
Repetitive hand movements for typing or assembly.
Amount of Travel Required: Up to 25% travel required.
