We are looking for a Training and Development Specialist to design, deliver and evaluate technical training programs for the growing staff at TechServ. The ideal candidate has the ability to skillfully balance the need to be exceptionally detail orientated, technically savvy and an expert communicator. The Training and Development role is demanding and complex, requiring excellent organization and time management skills.

About the Role The Training and Development Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating comprehensive training programs tailored to technical employees across the organization. This role ensures that team members have the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to perform effectively and stay current with evolving technologies, industry standards, and internal processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

Support the professional development of all technical employees through various programs that evolve to meet the business' changing needs.

Create and update training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials as directed by leadership.

Create and distribute course materials to all technical employees.

Maintain records of training and development activities, attendance, test and assessment results, and retraining requirements; evaluate training outcomes.

Create summary reports.

Work with leadership to select and assign instructors for specific training and development programs.

Provide performance evaluations for training instructors.

Assign relevant courses to new and existing employees.

Evaluate program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.

Prepare and implement the training budget; maintain records and reports of expenses.

Meet with the Leadership team to assess training needs within TechServ.

Utilize standard TechServ tools and LMS to create content and learning modules to facilitate learning.

Use surveys, questionnaires, and feedback from the leadership team to create learning materials.

Perform other related duties as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members and external partners

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

Ability to work with a variety of multimedia training platforms

Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy in all aspects of work

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)

Ability to learn new technologies quickly

A positive, helpful attitude

Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong interpersonal skills

Strong presentation skills

Must currently be eligible to work in the United States of America

High School diploma or GED

Ability to pass a drug test, background check, and Motor Vehicle Record check

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a business, education or technology field

Two years of training experience

Two years of instructional design and development experience

Knowledge of adult learning principles

Physical Requirements

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Alternates between sitting, standing, and moving about the office to access office equipment and filing cabinets.

Must be able to push, pull and/or lift up to 15 pounds at a time.

Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and courteous manner at all times

Requires working under stressful conditions to meet deadlines and company needs

Full-time, Exempt

Travel:

up to 25% travel; overnight as needed

Location:

Tyler, Texas

Schedule:

Monday- Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, evenings and weekends as needed
