What You Will Do:
Team Leadership:
Lead and manage a team of Personal Advisers, Social Workers, and support staff within the Care Leavers Service.
Supervision and Development:
Provide regular reflective supervision, performance management, and professional development support.
Workload Management:
Allocate and manage workloads to ensure statutory timescales and service standards are met.
Statutory Compliance:
Ensure all statutory duties for care leavers aged 16–25 are met, including pathway planning, safeguarding, and oversight of high‑risk cases.
Corporate Parenting:
Promote corporate parenting principles to support young people’s independence in education, employment, training, and wellbeing.
Service Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement through feedback, audits, and quality assurance activities.
Partnership Working:
Build and maintain strong partnerships with housing, education, health, and other key agencies.
Role Overview: As
Team Manager , you will provide operational leadership to the Care Leavers Service, ensuring care‑experienced young people receive consistent, high‑quality support as they move into adulthood. You will focus on safeguarding, corporate parenting responsibilities, and improving life outcomes in line with the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and related legislation.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Degree in Social Work (BA / MA / DipSW) or equivalent professional qualification.
Registration:
Registered with Social Work England (SWE).
Experience:
Significant post‑qualifying experience in Children’s Social Care, particularly with care leavers.
Leadership:
Management or senior practitioner experience managing complex safeguarding and transition cases.
