Assistant Director of Maintenance Job Summary
Glengariff Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented
Assistant Director of Maintenance
to support the daily operations of our Maintenance Department. This role assists in ensuring the facility remains safe, functional, and in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and experienced in building systems, safety, and preventative maintenance within a healthcare or long‑term care environment.
Assistant Director of Maintenance Key Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Maintenance in overseeing daily operations and maintenance staff
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance throughout the facility
Help ensure compliance with all safety, fire, life safety, and environmental regulations
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations
Assist with vendor coordination, repairs, and service contracts
Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and work orders
Support regulatory surveys and audits (DOH, CMS, Life Safety, etc.)
Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors
Participate in on‑call rotation as needed
Assistant Director of MaintenanceQualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade certification preferred
Prior maintenance experience in a healthcare, long‑term care, or similar setting strongly preferred
Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance
Familiarity with life safety codes, emergency preparedness, and infection control standards
Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to lift, bend, and perform physical tasks as required
